Contra is brought to us by Konami and was released in 1987.

Contra is a side scrolling platform shooter. You play as a commando named Bill or Lance. Which have been sent to destroy the base of Red Falcon an organization that wishes to conquer the world.

You start out equipped with a rifle but there are four other weapons that you can pick up during your mission. The weapons are a Machine Gun, a Laser Gun, a Spread Gun and a Fireball Gun. There are also two power-ups a barrier and rapid fire.

The game has seven stages to fight through. They are:

1, Jungle
2, Enemy Base
3, Core of Enemy Base
4, Waterfall
5, Second Enemy Base
6, Core of Second Enemy Base
7, Snow Field, Hanger & the Alien's Lair
